Obituary for Don Solomon

Don Solomon passed away in the early morning hours of December 30, 2020. Don was the lifeline of the Solomon family. He was a calm natured, kind-hearted, loving and very talented man. Don suffered from Rheumatoid arthritis for many years, yet, continued to use his talent making beautiful works of arts. Don was an Army Veteran, Woodworker, and avid gardener.
He was married to Monica (Sorrell) Solomon for 49 years. They lived in New Castle, Indiana and raised their family there. They had two sons, Jason and Aaron Solomon. Don retired from Allegheny, and spent his remaining years making wood into beautiful art. His cozy shop was his favorite place to be. He also enjoyed researching genealogy with Jason and collecting wood from all over the world. Don taught and donated his time and knowledge at the Art Association of Henry County in New Castle. He enjoyed sharing his craft and especially teaching youngsters. His grandchildren have fond memories of years they spent with him in his shop and helping with his farmers market stand. Don was loved and a good friend to so many. It is hard to sum up his life in a small write up. He was an amazing man and will be missed so very much. He lives on in the hearts of all of us. His works grace the homes of so many and will for many years to come. He left behind a legacy.
