Obituary for Violet Vi Snedigar

Violet “Vi” Snedigar, age 86, a New Castle resident passed away on Friday November 1, 2019. She was born January 14, 1932 in Pound, Virginia a daughter of the late Mitchell and Peggy Addington Kilgore.
Vi was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War, she loved family activities, sewing, cooking and dogs especially her pet dog Baby.
She had worked at Western Electric in Indianapolis, she then owed and operated a fabric store and also gave sewing lessons.
Vi then entered the restaurant business and had several restaurants along with her husband Robert “Bobby “ Snedigar over the past 45 years all under the name of Snedigars Restaurant.
She will be remembered as a sweet lady, excellent cook, very hospitable with a warm beautiful smile she always treated her patrons as her own family.
Left to cherish her loving memory include her husband Robert “Bobby “ Snedigar; children: Rocky (Carol) Kilgore of Lebanon, IN., Willard “Bubby” (Debbie) Plank of Sebring FL., Patricia Jones (Steven) Cohen of Brownsburg Kathy Privett of Richmond, IN., Barbara Payne of Indianapolis several grandchildren including Bryan and Keith Plank; several great grandchildren and also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son Thomas Plank, step son Freddie Snedigar, her parents and 9 siblings.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Macer Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service are handling arrangements.
